Region Tarangire Country Tanzania Destination: Africa

Description | Climate | Attractions | Recommendations

This beautiful, serene National Park stretches south-east of Lake Manyara around the Tarangire River. Tarangire experiences the highest concentration of wildlife in comparison to any of the other park’s in Tanzania, during the dry season between August and October.

Large herds of zebra, wildebeest, hartebeest and elephant can be found until October when the short wet season allows them to move on to lush new grasslands. However, the occasional leopard and rhino can be seen all year round, as can Elands, lesser kudu’s, gazelle’s, giraffe’s, waterbuck’s and impala’s. During the months of October and May, birdwatcing is particularly popular throughout the park. It has been recorded that over 300 different bird species live amongst this National Park, all of which combine in a spectrum of illuminating colours and contours.
